Q : How do I study on a Skills4More distance learning course?
Once you’ve enrolled on your course you’ll receive a welcome pack and the first printed course materials, to start your training. You work through the course notes from beginning to end, undertaking tutor marked assignments (TMS’s) as you progress. These are sent to your personal tutor for assessment and once you have passed each section, new coursework will be sent to you automatically.
Q : Can anyone apply for a Skills4More course, or do I need some kind of formal qualification?The great thing about our courses is that they are open to literally anyone, regardless of previous qualifications. We are very careful to make sure that you enrol for a course that suits your talents and your abilities. We thoroughly assess your ability before completing your enrolment papers, to make absolutely sure you’re happy with your choice of course and will enjoy working through the coursework.
Q : Is there a time limit within which I must complete my studies?No, you can work at your own pace and in your own time. However, some of the examination and accreditation bodies we work with only hold exams at certain times of the year, so you may find you want to plan around exam dates, so that you can be out there earning the rewards of your studies sooner rather than later!
Q : Why do I need a qualification or skill?There’s increasing pressure from the government and from companies looking for qualified employees. In the future, the present government plans to restrict benefits to those who haven’t sought vocational skills and the prime minister has said that the future for British business will rely on a skilled workforce. So now’s the time to join the skills race!
Q : Do I have to pay upfront, or can I make stage payments for my course?You are very welcome to pay for your course in one lump sum, or in stage payments. For those who prefer, all of our courses can be paid for using interest-free finance from a recognised, FIS approved lending source. A fully trained course advisor will advise you on your options.
Q : Will I be completely alone, or will there be tutor support?All of our courses and all of our students are supported by enthusiastic and competent tutors, who have helped previous students to attain their desired qualification. We also offer Live Internet Training on many of our courses so students can take part in a `classroom’ environment.
Q : Will I get a qualification at the end of my Skills4More course?All of our courses work towards industry recognised qualifications and will lead to examinations and certification from the world’s leading accreditation bodies.
